Music & Me

"The music has been my outlet, my gift, and my way of sharing what I feel" - Michael Jackson

My journey with music began even before I was born. While still in my mother's womb, I was surrounded by the melodies of Michael Jackson, particularly the song "Heal The World," which resonated deeply with her. By the time I was 2 or 3 years old, I was already dancing to Michael's songs, imitating his iconic moves and even dressing up like him to fully embody his spirit. Singing became part of my identity from the moment I could speak, not only performing Michael's songs but exploring the works of other artists as well.

Music didn't run in my family as a profession, but its passion has always been present. My grandfather once dreamed of attending the conservatory, but due to financial constraints, he became a carabiniere instead. My mother, on the other hand, sang in the church choir in Calabria and had ambitions of studying music, though the opportunity never arose. My uncle's wife brought music closer to our family by playing guitar and singing timeless hits by Tina Turner, Gloria Gaynor, Whitney Houston, and many others.

From a very young age, I was certain that I wanted to become a singer, and my inspirations began with Michael Jackson. His brilliance set the foundation for my love of music, which later expanded to include Stevie Wonder's soulful melodies, Diana Ross's elegance, Charlie Puth's modern sound, Pentatonix's harmonies, Mitch Grassi's vocal excellence, Whitney Houston's unmatched power, Bruce Springsteen's raw energy, Cyndi Lauper's creativity, Ed Sheeran's heartfelt lyrics, Bruno Mars's dynamic performances, Ava Max's contemporary flair, Angelo Furfaro's passion for traditional Calabrian music, Mimmo Cavallaro's rooted folk expression, and Peter Bence's innovative piano techniques. Each of these artists has influenced me in profound ways, shaping the singer and musician I aspire to be.

In middle school, I met a music professor who guided me onto the right path, preparing me for the music high school entrance exam. During this pivotal moment, I demonstrated my knowledge of music theory and the practice of my first instrument: singing. Once in high school, I encountered another inspiring professor, this time specializing in music technology. His teaching and support have been invaluable not only in expanding my skills but in encouraging me every day, both academically and in life.

Summertime brings vibrant opportunities for me to share my love for music. I perform shows interpreting Michael Jackson's unforgettable legacy and participate in karaoke nights where I delight in singing for an audience. Over the years, I have written various songs that serve as a mirror of my soul—music is not just my passion but my outlet. Through songwriting, I express who I am, my experiences, my emotions, and my stories.

Music, in all its forms, is my refuge, my voice, and my connection to the world.
